Singapore-4 December 2013
Chinese Developer Greenland Group launches maiden Sydney project – Greenland Centre Sydney – in multi cities.
Located at 115 Bathurst Street, Sydney, the A$600m dollar development will be Sydney’s tallest residential tower, comprising approximately 500 new one, two ad three-bedroom apartments and luxury penthouses, a boutique hotel integrated with commercial and retail spaces.
Greenland Centre Sydney will set a new benchmark for high-rise living in Sydney as the highest residential apartment in the heart of the city’s Central Business District. The skyscraper towers 83 storeys. Greenland Centre Sydney will also be the first project using innovative technology to re-use the existing structure and rejuvenate the old building currently onsite.
The design by BVN Donovan Hill and Woods Bagot will be an architectural tribute to a truly extraordinary city. Breathtaking views of the ocean, mountains, across Hyde Park and over the Harbour combined with luxury interiors and facilities will offer an exhilarating experience of living in the sky and provide a playground for those who appreciate the very best in life.
Darien Bradshaw, CBRE’s Executive Director, International Project Marketing in Asia, said “Stock on the market in Sydney has reduced from an already low base, by 1.1 per cent in the year to June 2013 for apartments. Rental growth has continued to be a primary driver of market demand in Sydney with a combination of strong yields and low interest rates as a persuasive mix for investors in particular.”
CBRE has been appointed the sole marketing agent for the project, which will be launched in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia over the same weekend of 7 and 8 December 2013. About 50 per cent of the units will be launched in the initial phase, with prices starting from A$528,000 .
The strong confidence in Sydney’s residential market is the reason behind Shanghaibased Greenland Group’s foray into Australia. Founded in 1992, Greenland Group ranks as one of China’s leading diversified property and finance groups. In cities the world over, their ultra-high rises are now a striking presence in the landscape. Greenland Centre Sydney is the group’s first landmark tower in the heart of the CBD and promises to be a celebration of all that makes Sydney great.
Sherwood Luo, Managing Director of Greenland Australia said “We are excited to have played a part in shaping Sydney’s CBD landscape with this iconic project and are confident that the project will attract a high level of interest ”.
The Boutique hotel and residential tower will have a full suite of facilities, including swimming pool, roof terrace and concierge. The roof terrace will enhance short stays while at the same time adding value to tower residents.
