Desmond Sim, Head, CBRE Research, Singapore and South East Asia:
“Without major new launches, new developer sales for December 2017 recorded 431 units, bringing the total tally for 2017 to 10,676. This is the highest level post-TDSR. The upshot of this is that demand seems to have continued to absorb previously-launched units. For the past 12 months, monthly take-up has surpassed what has been launched, with the exception of March 2017. This will help reduce the unsold inventory further – it is now at the lowest point since 2008. We expect similar a volume for 2018 with quantum driving the market.”
