Professional Experience
John Morris, a commercial real estate veteran with more than 30 years of executive management experience, leads CBRE’s Industrial & Logistics and Retail divisions as Americas Leader and Executive Managing Director. In this role, Mr. Morris oversees more than 1,600 professionals in the Americas who collectively were responsible for more than $83 billion of transactions in 2019.
CBRE is the leading provider of commercial real estate services in both the Industrial & Logistics and Retail property specialties. Under Mr. Morris’ guidance, CBRE offers clients a full range of services to help them adapt in the rapidly evolving industrial and retail sectors. Those include unrivaled advisory and transaction services from CBRE professionals across the globe, as well as an expansive suite of advisory services including retail analytics, location intelligence, supply chain, project management, location incentives, labor analytics, property management, and valuation, among others.
Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Morris spent 13 years at Cushman & Wakefield, most recently as Executive Managing Director of Logistics and Industrial in the Americas from 2012 to 2018 and Retail Leader in the Americas from 2017 to 2018. Prior to this role, he served as Senior Managing Director of Global Business Consulting from 2005 to 2012. Prior to that, he spent five years as a Consulting Manager at A.T. Kearney Inc., serving clients on strategic logistics projects. He spent the early half of his career in executive roles in retail and logistics for Volvo Cars of North America, Mazda Motor of America and May Co. Department Stores.
Mr. Morris lives with his family in Northwest Florida and in Chicago, where he enjoys travel, fitness, home projects, basketball, skiing and cycling. He has been active in numerous charitable organizations, including JDRF, PKD Foundation, ALS Foundation, United Way, Children’s Hospital of Colorado, and Operation Finally Home.
